Winemaker's Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon |
|
|
Our Winemaker's Grand Reserve Cabernet is only made in exceptional years. The '99 Cabernet is produced
from premium Cabernet regions of California. These quality vines produce small berry
clusters that are rich and condensed. We then escalate the intensity and color of the wine with
an extended maceration, and press the grapes into French oak barrels where it is aged for months.
The result is a world-class Cabernet Sauvignon that is full-bodied, rich and polished with layers
of concentrated cherry, chocolate and cedar flavors that is best cellared for ten to fifteen years. Previous
vintages of the Winemaker's Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon have received numerous accolades from wine
publications and wine writers, in addition to numerous Gold and Double Gold medals in major wine competitions.

| 2 PUFFS Rabbit Ridge Russian River Valley Winemaker's Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1995 $50 |
Something apart from the leaner style anticipated from its cool Russian River origins, this rich, wonderfully expressive Cabernet is simply loaded with plush, well-ripened varietal fruit and is given even more breadth from its abundant oaky sweetness. Dense, but never coarse or heavy footed, the wine is long and supple on the palate with fine-grained tannins providing just a bit of grip. Tasty now with richer beef recipies, it deserves a half-dozen years of cellaring to show its very best. Connoisseur's Guide September 1998 |
