Upcoming Releases
Rabbit Ridge is getting ready to have a busy bottling month in April. The following new releases are some of the wines that will be bottled:
2003 Paso Robles Reserve Primitivo: Only 50 cases will be bottled which will only be available to our Cotton Tail Wine Club members.
2003 Paso Robles Reserve Pinot Noir: This reserve Pinot noir is 100% French Oak barrel aged which was aged in barrels 6-8 months longer than the regular Pinot noir.
Allure de Robles: This wine marks the return of Rabbit Ridge’s popular Allure blend but this one will be more upscale and will contain a true Rhone blend of French clones of Mourvedre, Grenache, and Syrah. All the grapes will be from the Westside of Paso Robles, one of the most exciting places for Rhone style wines in the world. This will also be a non-vintage wine so that we can add more wine from the newer or older vintages to make it even better, similar to how the French make their wines (the French are allowed 15% of other vintages and can still label it as the vintage that makes up 85% of the wine whereas we are only allowed 5% of other vintages in California).
Grape Report
Our vines have all budded out and are now growing quickly in perfect 75 degree days with nights in the 40’s. About two more weeks and frost season should be over. We’ve been busy mowing the weeds and discing the vineyards as fast as our tractors will go.
Olive Report
We’re getting ready to put in another 1,000 Tuscan varieties of olive trees so that we can keep up with the demand for our olive oil.
