Cofermentation
Syrah and Viognier in the Cote Rotie Style
09/16/05

The Cote Rotie is in France's northern Rhone region.   A common practice in the Cote Rotie is to coferment up to 20% Viognier grapes with Syrah which helps to soften the more intense syrah characteristics and which adds floral and fruit character to the bouquet.

On 9/16/05, Rabbit Ridge crushed 10% - 20% 2005 Paso Robles Viognier into it's 2005 Paso Robles Syrah to emulate the Cote Rotie style of cofermentation.
