Our Barrel Cuvee Sangiovese comes from premium vineyards grown in select areas of California.   Low yields and a relatively long growing season contribute to an Italian-type wine which is darker, richer and has greater viscosity than most California examples of this varietal.   Our barrel-aged wine is noted for its intense fruit characteristic and impeccable balance.   The primary grape of the well known regions of Chianti, Italy, Sangiovese is at its best when paired with a broad assortment of foods.   This wine was blended to be consumed at a young age, yet the acidity allows our Sangiovese to cellar for three to five years.   Although great by the glass, this wine is particularly delicious with pasta, chicken and light dishes.
