VINEYARD PROFILE
This 2004 Paso Robles Chardonnay, No Oak is made from grapes grown on our Live Oak Road Vineyard and our neighbor's vineyard which is directly next to our Chardonnay block of fruit.   Both vineyards are located off highway 46 West on the way to the coast.   This area is rather cool and has very calcareous soil just like in Burgundy, France.   The vines are cooled by afternoon wind and fog from the coast with a similar climate to the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County; but with the distinct advantage of limestone soil.

TASTING NOTES
This No Oak Chardonnay is a wine that is bright and fruity - perfect for light seafood and shellfish, or simply for sipping by the glass on a lazy afternoon.   883 cases produced.

WINEMAKER COMMENTS
In recent years consumer demand has grown tremendously for a different Chardonnay, an alternative to the classic Chardonnay that is barrel fermented in oak.   In response to the demand, Rabbit Ridge has produced a totally tank fermented Chardonnay that was put through 100% malolactic (secondary fermentation) in stainless steel tanks.   In addition, our No Oak Chardonnay was produced without the use of additives in order to maintain the crisp, fruitiness of the grapes.   The wine was then bottled using only a light filtration to preserve the natural flavors.
