WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS
Our 2008 Paso Robles Grenache Blanc is produced from grapes grown on our Live Oak Road vineyard in the hills on the north side of Highway 46 West.   This vineyard is one of the highest in Paso Robles, located at 1,600 feet elevation.   In addition, this vineyard has large amounts of limestone in the soil with an average soil pH of approximately 8.   In order to keep cellar treatment to a minimum and to preserve the natural flavors this wine was not cold stabilized.   We recommend you not store this wine in your refrigerator for over one week or it may develop harmless tartrate crystals.

VARIETAL INFORMATION
The Grenache Blanc vine is hardy, easily-cultivated, vigorous and resistant to coulure, or the failure of the flowers to develop into berries.   It thrives in hot, arid, windy conditions on rocky soils but in this environment is threatened by a naturally low acidity.   When yield is intelligently restricted, the fruit offers abundant fruit extract and alcohol [...]. Properly vinified at low temperatures and without malolactic fermentation, it yields an attractive, fleshy, generously fruity wine with a fragrance of flowers and dill.

TASTING NOTES
Our Rabbit Ridge Paso Robles Grenache Blanc is a rich, fruity white wine most famous in Southern France.   Like the great wines of France, this wine has the mineral's naturally low pH and good acid not often found in California wines.   This wine is bright and lush with notes of honeyed marmalade, intense tropical fruit, white flowers and slight minerality.   The fruit is complimented by nice acidity, vanilla and a touch of oak.   This special white wine pairs wonderfully with shellfish and should age very well for several years.   Bottled April 13, 2009.   Only 45 cases produced.

SPECIAL NOTES
This wine has been handcrafted exclusively for our Cottontail Wine Club members.   Grapes from our estate vineyards on the west side of Paso Robles were picked at low yields to add complexity.   This wine has been selected and bottled for your enjoyment and education of the unique varietals and interesting blends our winemaker Erich Russell has always wanted to create.   We hope you will enjoy this very special wine with your family and friends and we thank you for being a treasured Cottontail.
