VINEYARD PROFILE
The 2006 Paso Robles Razzmatazz Proprietary Red Wine is produced from grapes grown on three of our vineyards on the west side of Paso Robles. The first is our Live Oak Road vineyard located in the hills on the north side of Highway 46 West. This vineyard is one of the highest in Paso Robles, located at 1,600 feet elevation. In addition, this vineyard has large amounts of limestone in the soil with an average soil pH of approximately 8. The vineyards' south facing position allows all the grape varieties in this wine to ripen at the same time. This allows us the rare opportunity to pick, crush and ferment all the fruit in the same tank for additional flavor and consistency. The second vineyard is located on the way to Lake Nacimiento on Vista Serrano Road. This vineyard is also rich in limestone soil. The third is Cristalla Ranch which surrounds the main winery on San Marcos Road. Visit the "Awards and Reviews" page on our website for a complete list of awards on our wines. |

WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS
Rabbit Ridge Razzmatazz is a dazzling balance of Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc. This exciting wine is the "Name that Blend" contest winner, designed and named by our long-term Cottontail Wine Club member Steve Tancredi. The three Bordeaux varietals were all crushed together into the same tank then co-fermented and left on the skins for three to four weeks to extract more intense flavors, aromas and color. Razzmatazz is a "Bordeaux meets California" style blend. Bottled July 25, 2008. Only 112 cases produced. TASTING NOTES Created exclusively for our Cottontail Wine Club and tasting room customers, Razzmatazz is a very big-bodied and tannic red wine made from a blend of premium red grapes. Given the great chemistry and structure this wine should age well for many years. If you decide you can't wait that long to try this intriguing blend we suggest decanting for at least three to four hours before pouring. |
