WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS
Rebel Zinfandel was bottled as a special one time wine to release the inner-rebel in all of us at Rabbit Ridge.   Erich Russell gave a friendly "hand gesture" to the Sonoma County officials and moved his entire winery to the start-up Paso Robles area rather than the much more well-known Sonoma County.   Robert Pierce planted grapes in rows so tight and on land so steep that no one thought it could be done.   Now this is the new rage in Paso Robles, and he did it first.   Jackie Pierce left the global biotech company Amgen to work for a lowly winery, married Robert Pierce then got her pilot's license...perhaps our biggest rebel!   Sandy James left a computer programmer job in her home state of Florida to become our enologist and record keeper...and deal the the TTB government authority.   Mike Sanford left the peace and serenity of counting sheep in Wyoming to be everybody's right (and left) hand man.   Jessica Tubb traded her fast paced, big city life for the "SLO" life when she moved from Long Beach to Paso Robles to work for a winery.   Now instead of marketing houses she is selling "The Rabbit's" wine.   Our Rebel Zinfandel is fruit mostly from our Vista Serrano vineyard.   Aged for an extra long time in 100% new oak barrels, this is a high alcohol, highly extracted, highly oaked wine that is all natural with no additions but yeast.   Rebel was bottled unfined and unfiltered to pull out all the flavors; therefore it will throw a slight sediment.   Drink this wine within two years before it becomes too rebellious.

TASTING NOTES
Our 2006 Rebel Zinfandel is a truly wonderful big-bodied wine with blackberry, raspberry and spicy flavors.
