VINEYARD PROFILE
Our very limited Côte Rôtie Style Syrah is available exclusively to our Cottontail Wine Club members and tasting room customers.   This wine is produced primarily from grapes grown on our Cristalla Ranch vineyard which surrounds the main winery on San Marcos Road.

Côte Rôtie, meaning "roasted slope," is a sub region in the warm and sunny hillsides of the Northern Rhône wine region of France.   One of the aspects of this particular region's wines is they are almost all blended, and some co-fermented with Viognier.   The Viognier portion of our Côte Rôtie Style Syrah was grown on our neighbor's vineyard on the north side of Highway 46 West.

WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS
Like a fine Côte Rôtie, our wine contains approximately seven percent Viognier.   Most Côte Rôtie wines are extremely tannic and need to be aged for several years before they can be fully enjoyed.   This wine was made in the same fashion however it contains fewer and softer tannins and is ready to be enjoyed now.

TASTING NOTES
With approximately two percent more Viognier than the previous vintage, this wine has a strong perfume bouquet and has earned the nickname "Light".   280 cases produced.
