VINEYARD PROFILE
Our 2004 Paso Robles Sarah's Syrah, Russell Family Vineyard Reserve is produced from grapes grown on our Live Oak Road vineyard in the hills on the north side of Highway 46 West. This vineyard is one of the highest in Paso Robles, located at 1,600 feet elevation. In addition, this vineyard has large amounts of limestone in the soil with an average soil pH of approximately 8. From the Live Oak Vineyard come three different clones of Syrah; Estrella, Tablas Creek and Entav 877. These vines are planted in three distinctly different locations within the vineyard and the fruit ripens as much as three weeks apart. TASTING NOTES This wine is a rich, fruity and complex with an elegant mouth-feel. Enjoy deep, concentrated flavors of raspberry, chocolate and black pepper. This wine has claimed reserve status with only 379 cases produced. Vist the "Awards and Reviews" page on our website for a complete list of awards on our wines. |
