VINEYARD PROFILE
Syrah-Sirah is from our west side Live Oak Road vineyard and highlights the distinct characteristics of grapes grown in a cooler climate containing limestone soil.

This vineyard is one of the highest in Paso Robles, located at 1,600 feet elevation.   In addition, this vineyard has large amounts of limestone in the soil with an average soil pH of approximately 8.   From the Live Oak Vineyard come three different clones of Syrah; Estrella, Tablas Creek and Entav 877.   These vines are planted in three distinctly different locations within the vineyard and the fruit ripens as much as three weeks apart.

WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS
For our treasured Cottontails we have blended two of our darkest and most full-bodied wines to create our Paso Robles Syrah-Sirah.   This wine was aged for approximately 15 months in 100% new American oak.

TASTING NOTES
With 50% Syrah and 50% Petite Sirah, this wine is like a big, inky mouthful of berries.   Since this wine has a high natural acid and a low pH, this wine will age well.   If you decide to open it now let it breathe for a couple of hours before consuming.   281 cases produced.
