RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY HEDIN ZINFANDEL |
|
|
From the world-class Roger Hedin Vineyards comes a unique Zinfandel worthy of vineyard designation and
Reserve status. Full-bodied, bold and luscious, this wine meets our most exacting standards for our best
individual bottling. We hand-pick the grapes and keep them in small fermentation lots for optimal blending.
The fruit then has an extended maceration before being pressed into French and American oak barrels, where it
is aged for months. This Zinfandel has notes of cherry and spice; it is bold and luscious with intense fruit
and a polished finish. The smoothness and body of our Hedin Zinfandel make it a sure bet to serve with bolder foods.

Attention-getting aromas of blackberries, spice, smoke and sweet oak raise expectations here, and the wine follows
with flavors that, while a bit rustic, deliver the power and potency promised. Full, fleshy and a little coarse in the
latter going, the wine makes nary a claim to finesse or refinement but should do nicely as a foil to highly seasoned
pork dishes.
